Have you seen the latest Spring 2018 arrivals from VHC Brands? We're working to get the whole collection added to our website, but we wanted to take a minute to focus on one of the highlights. Check out this gorgeous new quilt called Maisie. Richly colored fabrics and traditional country design make this quilt a standout. It's made with an eye-catching mix of quilt patterns. Take a look at the layout below -
The Maisie Quilt starts with a series of eight-point Ohio Stars that are made from deep burgundy/ khaki plaid and black / khaki plaid. The stars are set on a pretty background made from black / khaki ditsy floral print. We love the juxtaposition of this delicate floral print fabric beside the bold geometrics of this design. Definitely an interesting layout. Next, the stars are framed with burgundy and black strips of fabric arranged in a version of the "Court House Steps" pattern. This forms a single Irish Chain between the quilt blocks. Here's a more close up picture of the quilt folded.
Several coordinating accessories are now available in the Maisie pattern. The quilt can be accented with matching pillow shams in standard or king size. Both shams feature a center star surrounded by coordinating fabric strips- plus a little extra country bling in the form of contrast piping and a double ruffle around the edge. Little details do make such a difference. As you can see, this mix of fabrics creates a rustically primitive look with an earthy burgundy, black and khaki color scheme. To balance out the bold color and pattern, the Maisie Collection also includes accessories made from a nostalgic ditsy floral print. The delicate botanic vines and flowers are done in black, and sit upon a warm khaki background. Here is a close up of the fabric -
One cool thing about the Maisie Quilt is that it mixes nicely with several other accessories made by VHC. Maisie will coordinate with the Black Check Curtains and Accessories, Burgundy Check Curtains and Accessories, and also the Kettle Grove Black Plaid Curtains and Accessories. Lots of decorating options here. We love the checks and plaids, but there is just something so sweet and sentimental about the ditsy floral print. The Maisie Bedskirt is also made from the floral print. As always, VHC has included split corners and generous border of fabric around the skirt to keep the white center platform from showing if your bedskirt slips a little out of place- a classy touch.
For windows, this collection offers multiple choices- valances in three different sizes, and panel sets in two sizes. The Maisie Valances, 63" Panel Sets and 84" Panel Sets all feature a unique layered construction that pairs the ditsy floral print with a coordinating black and khaki check fabric. This gives a pulled together look that has just a little more flair than a single fabric design. Another interesting thing to note here- all of the Maisie curtains can be displayed in two different ways. Either by running the curtain rod through the rod pocket in the traditional manner, or by running the curtain rod through fabric loops located on the back of the curtain. An interesting development. The rod pocket method gives you a traditional look with a header, and the fabric loop method gives a slightly cleaner look with no header. All in all, a very nice collection by VHC. If you aren't familiar with their products here's a little background info. VHC Brands is a family owned business located in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. They design and manufacturer patchwork quilts and various other home decorating items. Their quilts and bedding accessories are made from soft cotton fabrics and are all machine washable for easy care. Using traditional patterns and modern technology, they are able to offer old fashioned patchworks at affordable prices. Their products are made in India.
